The results of the peel are achieved through applying a low strength lactic acid which is strong enough to remove dead skin cells and kill bacteria but not damage the skin. The skin will be left smooth, hydrated and decongested with an overall more toned and tightened appearance.

Preparing for your Peel

You may need to prep you skin for up to two weeks with home-care products depending on the peel chosen to suit your individual skin type and skin condition. You may also be advised to stop using some skin-care products before or after your treatment. This is to ensure the best treatment results.

During Treatment

During a peel the skin may feel warm or you may experience an itchy or tingling sensation while products are on your skin.

Immediately After

A broad spectrum suncream will be applied and a mineral foundation if required.

Downtime (Time for the Skin to Recover)

The average healing time may vary with the intensity of the peels and your skin type. With most of the peels your skin may experience mild irritation of the skin, tightness, redness (similar to sunburn), flaking or mild shredding of the skin for about 3-7 days after the treatment. This is a normal side effect as the products take time to penetrate and push dead skin cells to the surface so new cells can regenerate.

Homecare

Home-care products will need to be used for up to 7 days with all of the peels to help with the skins healing and to ensure other products don’t irritate the skin. Applying a sun protection factor is  absolutely essential to protect the skin.  We will give you a home-care leaflet & a complimentary home-care kit to ensure you follow the correct advice.

Additional Advice

Avoid heat treatments, sun exposure & sunbeds. Don’t mix the home-care kit with other products for 7 days after the peel. Don’t pick at the skin if you do experience any shedding.
